ABOUT US

The long civil crisis in Liberia that lasted for fourteen (14) years affected every sector of society negatively most especially the vulnerable and the disadvantage groups (Children, Youths, Women, Old folks and Handicapped).

With the end to the civil conflict and the return to lasting peace, the country seen to be recovering at an encouraging pace. Nevertheless, poor youth involvements in post war communities development activities and their general indiscipline attitude and behavior are indictors that they and their communities’ leaders need vigorous counseling and orientation through training programs etc fro their psychological upliftment, growth and proper use of their talents.

The will to aid with the good intent to strength the process of alleviating human suffering, we resolved to put right these factures mentioned, and deemed it compelling of our conscience to bring this view of concerns into existence.

And so, the idea of forming the organization, Youth Vision originated in Paynesville on January 2, 2000 and has been incorporated in Liberia as a local non-governmental organization.

OBJECTIVES OF YOUTH VISION

The objectives or goals for which include but not limited to:

a. Solicit funds/ways and means, training materials, relief assistance, etc.

b. Identify, organize and sensitize youth groups to contribute to the social and psychological needs of other youths.

c. To organize and convene a yearly youth forum/retreat for the purpose of discussing the concerns of young people, the challenges they face in their societies and jointly find solutions.

d. To faster peace, unity and reconciliation and the concept of peaceful co-existence amongst every youth regardless of status, political affiliation, ethnic back ground etc.

We solicite support,identify youths, most especially war affect youths. Train them and empower them to be useful in the society.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTHS

The programs of youth vision tend to provide the following opportunity for youths or its beneficiaries:

a. Provide the opportunity for youths to meet and interact, share concern and interchange solution.

b. Youths will have the opportunity to acquire skill training in computer, agriculture, carpentry, etc. that will lead to self reliance.

c. War affected youths will have the opportunity for counseling etc.
