Youth Action Forum Magazine is published by and for young Canadians three times a year. Each edition of Forum is geared towards motivating and encouraging youth to be proactive. Input to each issue comes from across Canada representing a wide spectrum of thought and opinion. Articles also profile youth organizations and projects from across the nation and around the world.
Resource Action Centre is a library and database of regional and international information. The purpose of RAC is to inform and encourage youth about topics and projects that matter to them. Topics include fundraising, reference guides, directories, legislation, politics, international development, environmental issues, social justice, human rights and media study. RAC's goal is to inspire organised and informed action.
One of the key resources of the RAC is Fire It Up!, YAN's toolkit for youth action. The manual covers topics ranging from anti-oppression to how to fundraise and write press releases. It is available in print or can be downloaded from here.
Youth Week is a celebration of youth and their achievements and and also the promotion of activism during this time. It is held annually in the month of May and involves organizations from around the country and the world. During the course of this annual event hundreds of organizations across Canada work together to help youth make a positive impact. Youth Week 2000 is planned as the first international Youth Week.
Ruckus! Anti-Racism Conference is an Ontario-wide conference for high-school students held in the fall each year. Examples of some of the workshops that are presented by youth facilitators are: reparations, diversity in the media, LGBQT relationships, and immigration issues.
YAN Merit Award recognizes a young person for their outstanding involvement in social activism.
Creative Activism Workshops provide youth with tools for critical creative expression. Young journalists, filmmakers and authors share their experience and skills with participants who develop a final project that is presented at a showcase event.
