WOMAN AND CHILD WELFARE LEAGUE is a non-governmental, non-profit and charity organization devoted entirely and cooperatively towards the well being of women, children and their families.
We advocate and promote the respect of their rights while reducing and striving to eliminate all forms of abuse and neglect on women and children. Strengthening families and care-giving and equally reducing and eliminating all form of family violence is our concern.
WOCHWEL promotes education and especially for the girl child, while encouraging vocational and alternative education.
Our health outreach program gives priority to STDs, HIV/AIDS education and prevention as part of healthcare, reproductive health and other life threatening diseases. Also, we encourage families to engage in the most appropriate, culturally accepted and feasible incentives to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS, cope with its impact and offering practical solutions to family planning problems.
We also design and implement programs to improve the quality of life of women, children and families in relatively poor rural and urban communities through sustainable development projects.
Environmental protection and conservation is within our prime objectives. Equally, our peace building and awareness programs in communities cannot be neglected.
