Our mission is to support vulnerable and impoverished children and communities worldwide and promote the personal and professional development of healthcare students. We strive to educate and empower healthcare students to initiate and maintain sustainable community integrated overseas projects aimed at improving the health, welfare and education of children in their community. We believe in the universal rights of the child and the role of future healthcare professionals in advocating and implementing change.
We partner students from 13 UK branches to community projects in developing countries. Students are trained to fundraise and advocate for a community, plus logistically organise volunteers to visit the community and participate in sustainable interventions.

Healthcare students are educated in global health issues by experiencing them first-hand, and they come away from projects feeling empowered to make a difference and campaign on the issues affecting that community.
Youth can volunteer for grass-roots community groups in developing countries. They can also train to be group leaders on projects.
Further to this, youth can be actively involved in UK committees- fundraising, communicating, planning logistics, discussing sustainability of interventions, and fully participating in National decisions.
SKIP is an entirely youth-led organisation: Even our National Committee and equivalent of a CEO are students.
