Socio-eCO2nomix-Global is an organisation that has been promoted by VEDA Climate Change Solutions Ltd who have developed a project “Improving Rural Livelihoods through Carbon Sequestration by adopting environmental friendly technology based agroforestry practices” in partnership with the BioCarbon Fund of the World Bank and local paper industry. The project has already been registered with United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and will benefit more than 1500 farmers addressing about 1600 ha belonging to small and marginal farmers. VCCSL has entered into an Emission Reduction Purchase Agreement (ERPA) with the World Bank for sale of carbon credits generated under this project. The organisation is being promoted to replicate and scale up the pilot project that has been developed by VCCSL.

Socio-eCO2nomix-Global is a not for profit enviro-social enterprise; the organisation specializes in creating institutional mechanism between resource poor farmers and the carbon trading mechanisms. The organisation addresses the twin most contentious issues of our times namely climate change and poverty alleviation. The organisation mitigates the challenges posed by global warming through agro-forestry models.
