shout for your right is a campaign organized by young people for young people, its goal is to encourage them and to sensibilize them for human rights engagement.
By working with student groups and youth groups at amnesty international for several years, we noticed the lack of a clear direction in the information for young people about human rights.
An unambiguous address to the youth in the visual media is also absent.
Young people get to know the field of operation of human rights organizations mainly through their parents, who are either themselves involved in such organizations or are themselves interested in them.
But an awareness for ethics and justice, as well as defending human rights, are tasks, that concern all of us. Especially young people walk this path into the future and set new values and ways to act, that are authoritative for our society's development. That is why we must start right there with informing the youth, educating and enlightening them.
In today's society we can witness more and more a seeming lack of interest in political
developments. The information rendered to us by the news is obviously being perceived, the unhappiness among the people is also noticeable. But where is the reaction? Where is the rightful rebellion? Who will stand up to say: „No, things can not go on like this!“? Economic interests stand above humanity.
Injustice and military interventions are oviously accepted in silence. Where is the solidarity among humans, care for each other and helpfulness?
Our campaign is meant to be youthful, fresh, direct and offensive.
We do not hesitate so speak up, to say what we think, because we are free to express ourselves and we stand to our opinion.
We want to make a change, we are strong and focused.
We want to be taken seriously, especially because we are young and we have an unbiased view on things. We can achieve something. We have potential.
That is why our slogan and appeal to the people is:
SHOUT FOR YOUR RIGHT AND FOR HUMAN RIGHTS
Everybody owns the freedom of speech, of standing in for his opinion. If ordinary speech is not being heard, then we decide to shout, instead of turning silent or speechless.
We support the idea that everybody has that right and seizes it, too, as change begins in communication, exchange and attention drawn.
Our main task is to put up a network in this spirit that will enable young people, but also adults, to get into contact with others who are interested, to say their thoughts and to become active them.
In the long run, we want to sharpen the awareness of young people for our world and society, and we want to draw their attention to the fact, that every single person is responsible for himself and his environment. We understand that our work is a social mission with optimism for a better future. shout for your right is a campaign, that was started in self initiative, it is supported by the organizations „Aktion Weißes Friedensband“, „Unicef“, „terre des hommes“, „Brot für die Welt“ and „Kindernothilfe“.

The center of our campaign is our website www.shout-for-your-right.org. Since it serves as an information pool and at the same time as a platform for young people to communicate in the topic human rights. It creates a network.
A class of future web designers in the media school silicon studio in Berlin took over the task of designing the website within a competition. Out the eighteen layouts thereof one will eventually be recommended for the website and be published.
Part of the contents of this website are sections, that inform about happenings in Europe and throughout the world. Contexts and circumstances are being explained, solutions proposed and furthermore possibilities and dates are offered, so that one can get involved personally, too.
A forum should create the foundation for discussions about specific topics, for exchange.
Competent specialist partners from single human rights organizations will help, wherever questions are left open. A newsletter system will notify those interested about current activities and dates. On the long term, the website will be serviced by Aktion Weißes Friedensband.

In the period before the spot's public premiere in Berlin we will start a comprehensive press campaign. Together with our partner organizations we will encourage a federal press conference among journalists of several newspapers and magazines.
We believe that our campaign does receive positive feedback from the people, since it happens to be and act of social commitment and it can bring improvement on the long run. In order to transport the campaign closer to the people and to emphasize it even more we are planning public events and happenings, in which everybody can participate.
