New Era: Movement in Motion is seeking to end the HIV/AIDS crisis, in communities of color, in direct response to the 2005 State of Emergency declared by Boston’s City Council. New Era hopes to dismantle stigma by building meaningful dialogue; harness the strength of our spiritualities/faith in order to break the silence and stigma; as well as utilize our creativity, skills and talents to disseminate accurate, relevant, and culturally appropriate HIV/AIDS resources. We are friends and families of the infected. We are organizers, artist, the faithful, youth, adult, and LGBTQ. We are the affected. We are committed to breaking the silence and addressing the disproportionate rates of HIV/AIDS infection amongst our communities.
