The National Youth Organization seeks to engender governance and leadership that builds the capacity and potential of youth and youth groups/ associations. We are out to forge new synergies and effective partnerships among youth organizations, government and the private sector. In the end we shall have confident and empowered young people ready to take on challenges they and society face.Further, the National Youth Organization shall build an operational knowledge base to influence youth mainstreaming. There is need to create institutional framework for participation of youth in various fora. Youth needs and aspirations must be incorporated right from initial stages of policy planning and implementation. Innovative ways must be engaged to enable and increase youth access to the resources and opportunities they need to create sustainable livelihoods and projects. In liaison with stakeholders we shall set a youth responsive development agenda at national, regional and local levels.

ØØ Leadership development - Counseling youth on how to start and manage youth groups. We also facilitate capacity building workshops for the group leaders for leadershipinfrastructure development. The programme promotes best practice in management of youth organizations and carries out assessments to gauge how best the organizations are delivering.
Ø Internship - Using contacts in the business and private sector we organize internships for graduating students or students on holiday. InformationWe pass on to our network and youth generally information on various issues e.g. conferences, workshops, events, world days, HIV-AIDS, youth policy etc
Ø Sport and arts - Promoting sport and the arts for young people as a vehicle of social and economic regeneration. The programme includes citizenship and leadership development through sport.
Ø Information and communication technologies training - Advocating for greater access to ICTs by young people and training for ICTs literacy and proficiency
Ø Environment - Awareness to youth about the significance of conserving the environment and mobilizing youth to protect the same.
Ø Citizen and governance - Promoting young people involvement in public affairs and governance and youth taking leadership roles.
Ø Young women - Promoting young women taking key positions and responsibilities in youth groups and creating an enabling environment for them to prosper.
Ø HIV-AIDS - Designing and advocating for youth-led and youth friendly interventions to HIV-AIDS.
Ø Voluntary service - Organizing volunteering opportunities and events for young people in their communities.ExchangesStudy visits provide opportunities for new experiences and partnership. In this view, we plan study visits both locally and internationally whereby youth will seize the chance of working laterally with their peers locally and globally. This forum will offer cross-fertilization of ideas and exchange of experiences with follow-up commitments and also provide linkages between Kenyan youth groups and those abroad.
