The forum for young leaders is a program and network created for young professionals and cultural leaders from around the world. The two components of the Forum are:
1. FYL conferences, and
2. the FYL Transatlantic Bridges exchange program which connects participants to companies, governments, and organizations offering high-profile internships on the respective continent (In 2002 icd provided exchanges between Germany, France, Italy, Poland, the United Kingdom, and the USA).
The conference formats range in structure including:
1. Panel discussions with 3-4 high-profile speakers/moderators and roughly 40 young leaders (focusing on a very wide variety of topics and cultures),
2. Role-play simulations where the young leaders can play simulate real-life international relations situations, for example in June of 2002 we met in the Berlin City Hall to reenact the US Congress, so the young leaders played the roles of American congressmen debating a controversial policy issue,
3. Working seminars where the young leaders will study and analyze focus case studies and topics with the end requirement of then producing recommendations for possible solutions or policy action. The Forum programs are organized with other major academic, cultural, and political institutions in the US, Europe, and Asia, initially, but the future goal is to expand this program to other continents as well.
