IHEYO (the International Humanist and Ethical Youth Organisation) is the international youth umbrella organisation for humanist, freethinker, laique, sceptic, rationalist, atheist, agnostic and related groups. IHEYO works with many groups and individuals around the planet to strengthen the pursuit of humanist ideals in theory and practice.Iheyo = Think and ActActions require vision, and a vision is useless without action. At IHEYO we combine the two by creating stimulating, in-depth discussions and supporting groups and concrete projects through teamwork, international projects, advice and expanding the network. By combining thought and action, we create strength.ThinkHumanism-is concerned with ethics, science and rationalism, and recognises that morality is a complex and continuously changing process,-supports democracy and human rights,-insists that personal liberty must be combined with social responsibility,-is a secular response to the widespread demand for an alternative to dogmatic religion and harmful superstition,-values artistic creativity and imagination and recognises the transforming power of art, -is a stance which aims for maximum possible fulfilment through the cultivation of an ethical and creative life.
ActIHEYO organises annual international humanist youth conferences and international internships all over the world. It offers non-formal educational projects that combine humanism with a human rights and empowerment orientation. It represents its members in international forums (UNESCO, etc.) and supports groups and projects where possible (including projects in Africa and Asia). IHEYO creates a platform for young humanists to meet and share ideas and experiences, plan projects … and have fun!
