MISSION:
HopeNet is a movement of *gifted and disadvantaged youth for social and educational evolution.
*Note: “gifted” refers to the gifts of empathy, kindness, perseverance, discipline, loyalty, teamwork, respect, courage and happiness etc
VISION:
To obtain what we have never had, we must do what we have not yet done... our vision is to network together 10's of thousands of youths from around the world in the pursuit of knowledge, peace, virtues and collaboration. Living globally in far-flung cities such as Manila, Bogota, Moscow,Baghdad, Rome, Beirut,Gaza, Mumbai, Shanghai and the Bronx; these special children speak with and see one another in real-time, as well as virtually learning, studying, playing and even working together. The children administer their own system of democracy, justice and international relations; and participate daily in life skills programs where they learn to resolve conflict, build community and support themselves through our global-digital economy.
Within this new world of hope, adult volunteers from all over the globe step up to tutor, mentor, sponsor and protect these special children. The program is freely available to children from all walks of life, and the only
cost to the children is for them to pay-it-forward through their Kindness Workz (good deeds) in their local
communities. Imagine... the long term effects if these children virtually grow up together over the course of an
entire generation? We believe that the effect on our planet and society will be overwhelmingly positive, and will
mark the beginning of a social-evolutionary shift!

Hope Street is a Philippine, non stock - non profit association. Registered with the SEC and the Dept of Social Welfare Dev.
Hope Street directly supports the education of the Hopefuls through a unique program called HopeNet. HopeNet
is a community based program that merges the virtual world with the real world to provide the Hopefuls with the
optimum character building, knowledge, life skills, as well as livelihood experiences. The HopeNet program is
provided through our computer laboratory facilities known as Hope “Cybraries” (cyber libraries). The
HopeNet software is the world's first: web-based, collaborative, character building, and knowledge platform for
children delivered in 42 languages. All of our HopeNet programs are free of charge and designed to be used by
the youth beginning when they are 7 - 12 years old. Our goal is to make HopeNet an everyday part of the
Hopefuls lives, beginning when they are in elementary school and extending through high school, college and
into adulthood.

HOPENET PROGRAMS AND SERVICES
HopeNet Programs and Services:
HopeNet has been under development for 7+ years and was recently launched in July 2011 in cooperation with
the Department of Education in Makati City, Philippines. Presently, HopeNet is running a pilot program in Maximo Estrella Elementary School, in Makati and will soon open up additional cybraries through a joint venture grant from De La Salle University.
Making HopeNet fun and interesting is the key to our success... in addition we strive to make the Hopefuls'
school-education as well as all of our own programs and services “relevant” to the individual hopes, dreams and goals of each child. HopeNet has focused its programs and services on two goals:
(1) Character Building: The aim of this program is to reinforce the core individual and community virtues and
values such as hope, citizenship, empathy, courage, persistence, wisdom and tolerance.
(2) Knowledge Activities: we provide the Hopefuls with a fun way to access global knowledge and to develop the knowledge skills that they have learned in their regular school-education.
HopeNet offers both individual and team paced knowledge and character building programs, which are packaged into activities that are led and administered directly to the Hopefuls by staff and trained volunteers known as
Knowledge and Kindness Leaders and Cybrarians. HopeNet has developed its own unique character building
and knowledge programs including Treasure Hunts, Be-a-Hero Campaign and the Hope Olympics, etc.
The HopeNet web-based software platform provides the Hopefuls with the following tools:
*Global Community Network: This program harnesses the power of social-media to facilitate global cultural exchange, communication and understanding; by providing real-time, one-to-one contact between the Hopefuls as well as with their tutors, mentors and sponsors using email, chat messaging, 3D virtual
world's, and video and voice conferencing.
*The Knowledge Portal: At the forefront of HopeNet is a unique one-of-a-kind service we call our Knowledge Portal. The Knowledge Portal serves as a filter for the trillion+ pages of information on the Internet, and through the Knowledge Portal, children will have instant access to the very best educational (science, math, language, social studies, technology etc) information, including websites, videos,
books/reports, images, animations, etc to assist in them their studies.
*eTutoring: HopeNet provides two types of remote eTutoring assistance, including Instant eTutoring and
Private eTutoring. The eTutoring service is provided by volunteers and supplements our self-service Knowledge Portal.
*My eBank: Through the My eBank program, each Hopeful is provided with their own personal bank account where they can earn, save and spend the HopeNet virtual currency called the Hope-Buck. The purpose of the My eBanking program is to reinforce financial skills and it is tied into all of the services and programs offered through HopeNet.
*eLivelihood: This program encourages entrepreneurship, and responsible purchasing of products. HopeNet has several eLivelihood programs including our My-eStore program where the Hopefuls can sell products that they create, and our eCommissary program where they can purchase products earned with their Hope-Bucks. This program helps the Hopefuls learn and practice their financial and business skills,
and to one day become financially self supporting.
*Kindness: Our flagship Character & Community Building service is our Kindness program, where the
Hopefuls provide Kindness Workz and community services, such as garbage clean up, tree planting, repair
and other good deeds. In recognition of the Hopefuls' participation in the Kindness program, they receive
Hope-Bucks for their Kindness Workz, which they can spend on the various HopeNet services.
