They share a common concern that children as a group are 'invisible' within the European Union and that the EU develops legislation, policy, and programmes without taking sufficient - or in many cases any - account of children's rights or interests. As a result of intensive campaigning by Euronet, the 1997 Amsterdam treaty includes for the first time in EU history a specific reference to children, together with other provisions which may be used to promote children's interests.

What does the organization do?
EURONET - The European children's Network - is a coalition of networks and organisations campaigning for the interests and rights of children (defined in the 1989 UN Convention on the Rights of the Child as all persons under 18 years of age).
