D.V.A initiate and participate in activities geared towards the attainment of sustainable environmental conservation and community development through participatory bottom-up approaches, collaboration, cooperation and affiliations with entities alike.
OBJECTIVES
• To promote the spirit of voluntarism, team building among the youth and women to empower them and strengthen international understanding.
• To coordinate international work camps and programs geared towards providing labour, capacity building technical and advisory services to community groups in need thus to empower self-help initiatives
• To initiate and participate in activities geared towards the attainment of sustainable environmental conservation thus ensures that the present and future generations embrace the conservation ethic.
• To co-ordinate participatory and quality exchange of information, material and people of diverse cultural backgrounds.
• To raise level of income of the youth and the women in marginalised areas by supporting their projects.
• To advocate for women rights and promote gender equality and strive to end violence against women and girl child.
• To empower the disabled by giving them a chance to take active part in development.
• To collaborate and network with agencies, organisations and institutions that focus on development.

OPPORTUNITIES WE OFFER:
work camp: a place where people from different races, nationalities, live and work together providing manpower/labour for a period of 3 weeks or more (depending on the nature of project) on a locally defined project organized by a host organization.
Volunteers meet socialize, exchange ideas (intercultural exchange) skills and combine energies together addressing problems and issues of concern.
Our work camp program runs all year through from January- December, each month we have a work camp program
Internship /attachment: this is an opportunity for those interested in acquiring more knowledge in their respective educational studies the duration of this program depends upon individuals we place participants with institutions and organizations. (This is a tailor made program thus we require you to give us a month upon receipt of your application to get you a suitable placement).
Home stay we organize this upon volunteers request this can be either in rural or urban setting depending on once wish, participants live and experience the unique rhythm of the African way of life, duration depends on the participant.
We offer Special training on making African jewelry, batiks, curving, pottery making, cultural safaris trips , African traditional dance classes African history lessons as well as Swahili classes this also is a tailor made program
We offer people with disabilities to take active part in projects designed to suit their preference we require we require you to give us a month upon receipt of your application to get you a suitable placement (this are tailor made programs and we require our volunteers to be specific on their interest this will aid us in finding the perfect project).
