The California Coastal Trail will connect cities and towns, historic sites and the natural landscapes of beaches, bluffs, bays, estuaries and mountains. The CCT will be one of the great long-distance hiking trails along one of the world's most diverse coastlines. Coastwalk is a California state-wide non-profit organization which promotes coastal and environmental stewardship through fun, educational hiking and camping adventures along the California coast each summer, for all ages. Coastwalk offers many opportunities for volunteering with our organization and we make every attempt to encourage and engage youth in our programs. Coastwalk believes that today's youth are the next generation of powerful, creative and pro-active stewards of the planet earth.
Coastwalk is looking for a gregarious teen to volunteer as their community Adopt-A-Beach Coordinator. This volunteer Coordinator would promote the Coastwalk Adopt-A-Beach program in their community, inviting civic groups, youth groups, and community groups to participate in a 3 hour beach clean-up project in their county. This Volunteer Adopt-A-Beach Coordinator position will require a time commitment of approximately 5 hours each month. This is really fun, and groups always feel very good about the positive impact that they make!
Coastwalk is seeking outdoor adventure lovin' teen leaders to coordinate Coastwalk Day Hikes in their county. If they have one or more favorite hiking areas, would they like to introduce other teens to an outdoor adventure in these wonderful spots? Coastwalk would assist them in hosting Day Hikes and/or coordinating other Day Hike leaders and local naturalist's interpreters for Day Hike adventures in their community.
Coastwalk is seeking strong, adventurous youth leaders to join us on our California Coastal Trail building teams throughout California. We have projects in many communities, creating and building new stretches of the CCT and projects focused on maintaining or improving existing stretches of the Coastal Trail.
Coastwalk is seeking teen leaders to participate at our CoastTrek 4 Youth summer program. This is a week-long program designed to inspire and educate Youth Leaders about the critical and positive impact they can make through their efforts to preserve & steward the Earth's coastal waters and natural habitats. You'll be hiking and camping along some of the most beautiful stretches of the California coast, learning the natural and cultural history of each location. You will have the opportunity to work side-by-side with marine biologists and habitat restoration experts as you explore the California Coastal Trail, step by step.
