We also inform them on how countries worldwide are using information technology (IT) as a major tool for development.

· We educate youth on information technology and its components of people, procedure, computers, data/ information and communication. We also teach them how IT is impacting virtually all the fundamental aspects of human life.

· We empower youth with IT skills and prepare them for the global marketplace; this ranges from training in basic computer skills, internet & email to web development, programming, and networking skills. We also encourage personal development as a panacea to the shortage of IT skills.

Youth are a link between today and tomorrow.

It is not only good public policy but good public practice to involve youth in all streams of initiatives including ICT4D (Information & Communication Technology for Development). Participation of youth is not only exercising a right of belonging, involving youth who are key stakeholders will only lead to a better and more effective civil society.

Further to growing concerns about access to Information Technology among average Nigerian Youth, clickITnigeria was established. clickITnigeria is an ICT4D youth-led initiative conceived out of the need to raise the level of IT awareness & visibility in the country and the rising need to raise a globally competitive group of Nigerian Youth.

Apart from the poor infrastructural facilities that youth contend with today, clickITnigeria appreciates absence of will and awareness as a key problem of young people in the global south including Nigeria. Understanding these challenges, we hope to equip these young people with the necessary tools in bridging the digital canyon.

Engaging in practical IT training, resource sharing, collaboration and synergies, youth empowerment programs, and ultimately a good team spirit, clickITnigeria is set to achieve its mission in developing the minds of Nigerian Youth in taking active part in local action, regional collaboration and global initiatives all centred on IT/ICT4D.
