Objectives:
-To prevent HIV transmission and to control its spread.

-To co-ordinate and strengthen STD/HIV/AIDS surveillance
-To provide technical support in HIV/AIDS prevention and control to Government and Non Government Organization.
-To enhance the community aware ness, especially knowledge attitude and practice of high risk groups.
-To develop health education materials for distribution and adaptation by agencies working in AIDS prevention.
-To canalize and integrate the activities for Non Governmental Organizations in AIDS prevention.
-To promote safety of blood and blood products and encourage voluntary blood donation movements
-To provide facilities and to strengthen sexually transmitted diseases services in Government and Private Medical Institutions and practitioners.
-To develop counseling services.
-To organize social support for management of a HIV/AIDS infected patients
