The Alliance for Peace is a non-profit, non-partisan, non-governmental independent organization working for a peaceful and democratic Nepal. The Alliance for Peace was established in 2003 by a group of like-minded students and youths who saw the need for peace in a country being torn apart by violence and conflict. Now, the organization is made up of a team of dedicated professionals, youth and student leaders. The greatest strength of the organization is its network of fellow students and youths all across the nation. The Alliance for Peace feels strongly that the student and youth of today are the stakeholders of tomorrow and that if they are made knowledgeable and sensitized on the issues of Human Rights, good governance, peace building, conflict transformation and democracy then this will have positive - both short term and long term - effects upon the students and youths and the nation as a whole. The Alliance for Peace works actively for good governance and the preservation of Human Rights. It also aims to help build a society that is free from crime, conflict and violence against humanity. The Alliance works through advocacy, research, support, capacity building and workshops and forums.
