ANUNSA, founded in 1958 at the University of Ibadan is a registered and recognised United Nations Youth and students Association in Nigeria. The All-Nigeria United Nations Students and Youth Association (ANUNSA) is a member of International Youth and Students' Movement for the United Nations (ISMUN) The basic activity of ANUNSA is to study the nature and workings of the United Nations and to promote the ideals and principles of the United Nations through Conferences, workshops seminars, press releases and other IEC systems and other related activities of youth and students implications as basis for world peace, social justice and sustainable development. ANUNSA's activities cut across, educational, social, cultural, political and professional backgrounds. Her thematic issues cut across Health, Environment, Poverty Eradication, Education, Sustainable Development, Democracy, Population, Governance, Human Rights, Conflict Resolution, Peace Education and International Affairs Etc. However these issues are considered from the youth and students perspective as her contributions to the aims & objectives of the United Nations in General AIMS: 1. Propagate the ideals and principles of United Nations as a basis for the achievement of peace for mankind. 2. Cultivate, as a matter of duty, amongst Nigeria students and youths an objective outlook on National and International issues. 3. Work with young people and students to strive for national economic, social and cultural liberation and against any form of neo-colonialism. 4. To have an arm of Volunteer corps which will serve as service outlet for the association as a means for promotion of a united, strong and self-reliant nation. 5. Promote sustainable/environmental sound development in Nigeria and the world at large. 6. Affiliate with any National and or International bodies whose ideals are in line with those of ANUNSA. OBJECTIVES: 1. Among her long term objectives are: to create a pool of leaders trained in multilateral diplomacy and negotiation: 2. To participate in development of Youth leaders network committed to, and concerned with the United Nations system and its work 3. Carry out activities for the advancement of knowledge, educational, scientific, social, cultural, sports, charitable purpose and literacy campaign as permitted by law. 4. Pursue and facilitate easy collection of International Passport and other assistance of the Ministry and parastatal responsible for Youth Affairs. ACTIVITIES: 1. Effective participation in current economic, social, political and cultural issue through press release, lectures, seminars, symposia, workshops and round tables, etc. 2. Organising of educational and humanitarian tours and excursions within Nigeria and ECOWAS Countries. 3. Dissemination of news and publications on United Nations activities through ANUNSA NEWS, FILM SHOW, EXHIBITIONS, etc. 4. Organisation of Exchange Programmes and Leadership Training. 5. Taking part in organised voluntary work on campuses. 6. Sending of delegates to the ISMUN annual summer school and other important programmes. 7. Participation in National literacy campaigns and other awareness programmes germane to Environment, Population, Health, Human Rights, Democracy and Good Governance, etc. 8. Organisation of fund-raising activities for relief and other humanitarian purposes. 9. Welcoming of Students and Youth bodies from African and other foreign countries. 10. Processing of International passports and other travelling documents for members. . MEMBERSHIP: 1. Membership of ANUNSA is of three categories. Viz.: (a) Student Wing; (b) Youth Wing; (c) Fellow 2 The student wing shall be opened to all students in Nigeria’s institutions of higher learning irrespective of religion, tribe, belief, or sex. In this context, Institutions of higher learning shall be construed to include; (a) Universities (b) Polytechnics (c) Colleges of Education (d) School of Nursing (e) Registered students of professional Bodies (f) Any other institutions of higher learning as may be determined by the National Executive Council (NEC). 3 The Youth wings is open to: (a) Graduate of the institutions as listed above (b) Professionals (c) Any other bodies or institutions that NEC may approve 4. Fellows are conferred on individuals (members and non-members) who have distinguished them selves in contribution to youth development and have shown keen interest in ANUNSA and its activities

Youths play active role in the general running of the organisation, They also play the leadership roles in decision making, volunteerism and all the activities.
The opportunities we offer youths are that we train them in various leadership skill , career development training to help them discover themselves, we also teach them the role of youth in peace building, good governance and democracy.
we give them the opportunity of coming in contact with policy makers,expose them to international conferences especially as it regards to youths. like right now that Nigeria is about to have a national election we ar going to create a plat form for nigerians to come and be aware of their role in the sustainance of Democracy and good governance all these we usually achieve through seminars workshops and symposiums. we also take them for excursions and tours and the need for gender mainstreaming in decision making process and practices.
