AYC exists to promote citizen engagement and build critical consciousness by using popular education as a means to empower youth and spur organizing. We believe that speaking “on behalf of people” does not promote citizen involvement. People directly affected should lead. Not foreign interest groups or international charitable endeavors.

African Youth Collaborative (AYC) assists in the creation and management of a communications infrastructure to promote dialog between youth leaders and organizers in Africa. AYC’s overall aim is to empower youth to lead the revolution to improve schools and to promote equality and justice in Africa through inclusive and active student and organizer engagement. We assist in developing peaceful strategies to increase youth voice, choice, challenge and connection to school, the local community and globally which serves to mobilize community change.

AYC supports organizations who fight to:
• Eradicate extreme poverty & child labor in Africa
• Promote education reform in Africa
• Improve and expand education infrastructures in Africa
• Promote civil & social justice, economic welfare, and basic human rights for African people.
• Desire peaceable solutions to the problems that plague our beloved Africa.

To the Youth of Africa: You have the power to change your destiny. The seed of justice has been planted in your very DNA. God lives in Africa. And where God is, there is freedom.

African Youth Collaborative is an independent, nongovernmental organization, supported by contributions from private individuals and foundations worldwide. It accepts no government funds, directly or indirectly.
