27 Million Voices (27MV) is the response to a pressing need for action in the fight against human trafficking - one of the most atrocious and fastest growing crimes of our time. While the efforts contributed to stopping this phenomenon are extraordinary, much more needs to be done. Situated in Northern British Columbia, 27MV is committed to raising awareness, and enabling others to act locally, in order to stop human trafficking globally. Given the empathy, goodwill, and significant sense of citizenship in our area, there is tremendous potential for us to emerge as leaders in the movement against human trafficking. 27MV works in partnership with a grassroots organization in Aboisso in la Cote d’Ivoire. Aboisso is a community situated on a major trafficking route running parallel to the West African coastline. Its people bear witness to the trafficking and exploitation of children as a part of their daily lives; so then, do we bear witness. We have an ability and responsibility not to lay idle, but to work in partnership to stop the trade of children. Our capacity continues to grow, and as we dedicate our time, talents, energy, and resources, we are adding impressive value to the global movement against human trafficking today.
