We, the founders of YouthSPEAK, advocate and recognise that the youth of the world should have the opportunity and platform to voice their views on international, national and local issues. To do this successfully, they must communicate with each other via harnessing the power and potential of open dialogue, creative debate and passionate collaboration. In order to achieve this, we will build a global youth network focused upon issues of politics, with the eventual aim of formulating policy. The focus and point of engagement will be the ideas, values, experiences, hopes, knowledge and energy of young people, which will in turn motivate, empower and inspire the members of our network. Furthermore, we believe in empowerment via education and participation, which will encourage cross-cultural understanding, cooperation, tolerance and respect. We will foster shared work, experiences and the idea of a common future. Most importantly, we will give articulation to the thoughts of today’s youth by advancing their platform, their agenda, and their voice.

YouthSPEAK gives young people plenty of opportunities to be involved in the political and democratic process:
- A opportunity to voice their views on local, national and international issues on online forums, branch meetings, magazines and newsletters.
- Participation in a civics and political education program, which is a merit based program designed to give incentives through awards and grading. The program is designed to develop the leadership, organisations and public speaking skills of participants as well as encourage good global citizenship. The program also aims to raise awarness of democracy, good governance and the importance of political issues.
- Internship programs allows young people to actively participate in the policy making process. Throughout the course of their program, young people will be able to address an issue of their concern, where they will be able to research and draft position papers on the topical areas. These topical papers will then be submitted to governments and NGOs of concern for consideration.
