The Youth Coalition believes that sexual and reproductive rights are human rights, and therefore apply equally to young people. As young people, we have a valuable contribution to make to society and must be given a voice in all policy and decision-making processes which is recognized, respected and incorporated.
We are an international coalition of young people (ages 15-29 years) committed to promoting adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive rights at the national, regional and international levels. We are students, researchers, volunteers, educators, NGO (non-governmental organization) workers and activists.

Our Mission: to recruit, train and support youth to promote young people’s sexual and reproductive rights at the national, regional and international levels.
How do we do this?
Awareness raising: The YC seeks to raise the awareness of international policymakers about the sexual and reproductive rights of adolescents/youth and youth participation in decision-making processes. Our members also encourage NGOs, research institutes, health care providers, service delivery groups, media, cultural and religious groups to incorporate youth perspectives and adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive rights into their work.
Training: The YC provides members with skills and knowledge to enhance their work with decision-makers at the national, regional and international levels, in support of the sexual and reproductive health and rights of adolescents and young people. Through regional workshops, the YC also trains youth working at the grassroots and national levels about: raising public awareness on our issues; international agreements; youth participation in decision-making processes; networking and coalition building.
Information: The YC generates knowledge, information and policy recommendations on our issues, and shares this information with others. Our members share a youth perspective on SRR through their participation in meetings, conferences and workshops related to our issues.
What we believe:
Sexual and reproductive rights are human rights, and therefore apply equally to young people.
Sexual and reproductive health and rights information, education and services are vital in safeguarding and promoting the life, health, and well-being of young people.
Youth participation is essential to ensure that sexual and reproductive health and rights programmes and policies address the needs of young people.
