The Young Politicians of America was founded to expand the democratic experience to the youth of our society. Our goal is to further democracy, participation in government, and good citizenship.

As President Christian Shelton has denoted: "The Young Politicians of America is a growing organization that is committed to encouraging America's future political leaders. It is our role as the future leaders of America and the world to stay dedicated to John F. Kennedy's timeless call for public service more than 30 years ago: 'Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.'" Through these words YPA, a non-profit organization, has empowered youth and provided networks of information for those who want to make a difference. As the organization grows and we receive more funding, we will expand our efforts in informative campaigns in High Schools and Universities to persuade young people to appreciate the importance of government through community service and discourse.
