A leading Canadian international development agency, WUSC is a network of people and post-secondary institutions whose mission is to foster human development and global understanding through education and training. Active on over 70 campuses across Canada and in 17 countries overseas, WUSC has been engaging Canadians and improving lives for over six decades. Our alumni include leaders in the public, private and voluntary sectors in Canada and around the world. WUSC, in partnership with CECI, manages the Uniterra international volunteer program which offers citizens and organizations the opportunity to address global poverty. What does the organization do?
WUSC is a development organization on the one hand and a post-secondary network on the other. In terms of development, we manage projects overseas in Ghana, Botswana, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Peru to name a few. Projects ranger from vocational training to water sanitation to girls...

WUSC is a development organization on the one hand and a post-secondary network on the other. In terms of development, we manage projects overseas in Ghana, Botswana, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Peru to name a few. Projects ranger from vocational training to water sanitation to girls education to civil society capacity reinforcement. On the post-secondary network side, we link up over 70 local committees on campuses, primarily in Canada but now in Ghana and Burkina Faso, as well. In addition, WUSC has about 50 institutional members (colleges and universities) and manages a Student Refugee Program.

Post-secondary aged youth can volunteer to work overseas (Uniterra program), sometimes as part of their college or university studies (Students Without Borders). They can also get involved in their Local Committee to sponsor a refugee student or be involved as a development activist, raising...

They can also get involved in their Local Committee to sponsor a refugee student or be involved as a development activist, raising awareness and building support for better aid, fair trade, etc.
