India is the second leading country in the world in the field of IT and there are many intelligent engineers and scientists in India. Inspite of this, it is ironical to note that India is also among the nations having the highest rates of illiteracy, unemployment, poverty and brain drain too is becoming a major problem in India. Therefore it is becoming important to ensure that the country progresses uniformly in every field. ICTs would play a major role in achieving this objective. Thus, the impact of WSIS in India would prove to be a catalyst for the development of the nation.

Indian youth have always been sidelined and have never been given a role in the decision making process. WSIS national campaign will serve as a platform to unite the Indian youth and give them an opportunity to be involved in the decision making process and empower the youth in the real sense of the term, making them the leaders in ICT for development. The WSIS national campaign would connect the presently isolated Indian youth with the efforts being taken by the youth at the international level and make them an integral part of the global ICT society.


OUR VISION
A. Bring together young people from all over Indian between 15-30 years who are interested in issues such as –
a. How young people using ICT can help in national development;
b. What are the issues related to youth and ICT in India;
c. How can we boost rural youth participation in national development using ICT.
d. Try to understand relevance and influence of ICTs in the day-to-day life of Indian youth in order to use ICT as a positive influence for youth development and employment generation
B. Brainstorm and put together an actionable youth vision and strategy on how we can address and help solve these issues.
