In order to truly involve young people in the World Urban Forum, a group called the World Urban Forum & Youth (WUFY) has been formed. WUFY is working closely with partner organizations like KAYA (Knowledgeable Aboriginal Youth Association), Check Your Head, the One Stop Youth Centre in Nairobi, Kenya, UN Habitat’s Partners & Youth Section and with Forum organizers to integrate young people’s experiences and ideas into the agenda and events during the conference.
The World Urban Forum will be a great opportunity for young people involved in successful youth-led and youth-driven projects and programs to show international policy-makers, scientists and business leaders that youth are organizing to create positive change in their cities around the world every day. This is a chance to showcase youth-innovation, youth-led development, youth-networks and youth-power to the world!

The World Urban Forum & Youth Organizing Committee will advance the meaningful engagement of youth in local, national and international development projects and policy-making by:
• Building upon already established international policies that promote youth involvement in governance.
• Profiling the best practices of effective youth programs and projects that address the themes of the World Urban Forum and the Millennium Development Goals.
• Initiating a campaign leading up to the WUF that would commit countries to promoting the engagement of youth in local, national and international governance.

The World Youth Forum: Bringing Global Youth Leaders Together
The World Youth Forum is a three-day youth conference taking place the weekend before the WUF. The Youth Forum will be a chance for young people involved in exciting youth-led projects around the world to meet, share best practices, connect and collaborate with each other.
The Youth Forum will bring together 150 international youth delegates with 150 North-American youth to discuss youth-led projects, prepare for their participation in the World Urban Forum and write a youth declaration that will be officially presented there.
Youth Forum Delegates will be from all walks of life, from university students to Hip-Hop performers and young social activists…we want to create a space for engaged, motivated young people to be inspired, build networks and work together to ensure that the politicians, planners and businesspeople at the World Urban Forum know they must include youth voices and youth-led projects in any effective solutions to problems like drug-addiction, hunger, illiteracy and environmental pollution.
The World Youth Forum will culminate in the Hip-Hop Mainstage Concert, a four-hour interactive show featuring MCs, DJs and performers from Vancouver and around the globe.
Participants in the Youth Forum will also be registered as delegates at the World Urban Forum, and will be able to meet, present their projects to and speak directly with the “experts” attending.
