WDCI shall be a non-governmental, non-political, non-religious, non-profit making, charitable organization for the promotion and enforcement of children’s welfare, the elimination of all forms of repugnant practices and violence against humanity and the upliftment of their standard of living and rights of children.

What does the organization do?
i. To raise the health and social consciousness and awareness of the general public through effective dissemination of information on children’s civic, social, religious, and economic rights.

i. To raise the health and social consciousness and awareness of the general public through effective dissemination of information on children’s civic, social, religious, and economic rights.
ii. To influence the implementation of effective policies and programmes that will foster the advancement of children, the elimination of violence against children and youths, and the eradication of harmful practices on children.
iii. To promote self-reliance among the youths and eradicate all forms of vices, dependence and discrepancy among youths.
iv. To foster and actualization of the rights of children.
v. To boast the leadership and creativity skills in youths.
vi. To promote scholarship scheme and create job opportunity for the youths.
vii. To educate the youths on the need for empowerment and self-realization and self-actualization.
viii. To undertake other activities that may be necessary to attain the objectives of the organization.

iii. Organizing, supporting and encouraging sensitization, seminars, workshops, conferences and training programmes for children, youths, women, men ,non-governmental organizations and CBOs on the rights of children, gender equity and violence against children.
iv. Networking with other organizations to lobby government for provision and implementation of affirmative action concerning children and youths in all areas of governance and decision making.
v. Organizing, encouraging and offering technical support for establishment of small savings groups with specific reference to the less privileged children, youths and women to generate resources for economic self-reliance.
vi. Cooperating with other NGOs in realizing the objective of this Organisation.
