This project aims to empower students to be aware of, and involved in, the developmental issues Canada supports. Specifically, it focuses on the HIV/AIDS pandemic with emphasis on how it affects sub-Saharan Africa, particularly women. We aim to give students an opportunity to take part in the fight against HIV/AIDS and hope that they will get involved in their communities to speak out against global injustices.

What does the organization do?
In January 2008, a group of six Vanier students and three staff and faculty went on a Study Trip to Malawi, Africa, to learn more about the epidemic at a grass-roots level. The students who participated in the trip will now be trained to reach out to fellow students at Vanier and in Montreal high...

In January 2008, a group of six Vanier students and three staff and faculty went on a Study Trip to Malawi, Africa, to learn more about the epidemic at a grass-roots level. The students who participated in the trip will now be trained to reach out to fellow students at Vanier and in Montreal high school so that many young Canadians can acquire an understanding of how HIV/AIDS has affected sub-Saharan Africa. It is only by understanding global problems that young people will develop a personal commitment to assisting Canada in helping to solve them. We are organizing an AIDS Day Conference and have an on- going essay competition for youth to get involved.
