In particular, the organization strives to keep the University of the Philippines Diliman a safe space for students who self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT).

UP Babaylan spearheads various campaigns within and outside the University of the Philippines Diliman to promote awareness of LGBT issues:
* Support group for UP Diliman LGBT students.
* Campus-based educational discussions on (1) sex, gender, and sexuality; (2) the Anti-discrimination Bill; (3) HIV/AIDS and other STIs; (4) vagrancy; (5) gay lingo.
* Networking with other LGBT organizations and participating in their respective activities.
