The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is a global leader in the fight against illicit drugs and international crime. Established in 1997, UNODC consists of the Drug Programme and the Crime Programme. UNODC has approximately 350 staff members worldwide. Its headquarters are in Vienna and it has 22 Field Offices as well as Liaison Offices in New York and Brussels. UNODC relies on voluntary contributions, mainly from governments, for 90 per cent of its budget.

The Global Youth Network project is run by UNDCP to increase youth involvement with the international community in developing drug abuse prevention policies and programmes. We hope to create a community of interest among youth and youth workers in the field of drug abuse prevention. The network has three main objectives: increase communication between youth groups and UNDCP, collect and disseminate information on good practices and build the capacity of youth groups across the world to successfully conceptualise and implement drug abuse prevention projects. www.unodc.org/youthnet
