Unite for Sight is a non-profit, student-run organization, founded by Jennifer Staple Yale '03, that seeks to spread the gift of sight locally and internationally.

Monthly vision screening programs at selected New Haven locations identify patients at risk for eye diseases and those with deteriorating visual acuity. Through vision education programs, Unite for Sight informs the community about the risk factors and effects of various eye diseases, the impact of aging on vision, how to maintain vision health, and provides services for those coping with vision loss. In an annual Spring “Eyes on New Haven” program, children learn measures of eye protection now to preserve vision later in life. In its commitment to the preservation of vision internationally, Unite for Sight collects used prescription glasses and non-prescription UV-protected sunglasses to be sent to third-world country eye clinics to dispense to patients unable to purchase glasses.
