Our project allows young people to put their life in context by finding out more about their history and the histories of anyone else around the world.
Each and every country has a past full of events to give national pride, but also events that bring shame. Through looking at history you can unpick the good from the bad and see how things are not as straight forward as they might first appear, or as they have been told to you. It is easy to get lost in what the media tell you these days, but through studying history you can make more informed decisions, be critical about the impacts of the political parties, and see examples of where real changed has happened by not just by rulers or leading parties, but also by individuals or minority groups.
With a history background you are able to spot potential errors in judgement before they occur, and make decisions based on examples and case studies from the past.
