Faiths Act is the social action wing of the Tony Blair Faith Foundation. The Goal of Faiths Act is to make the case for religions as a force for good and to show this in action. The programme encourages multi-faith initiatives to tackle global poverty by working towards the Millennium Development Goals, with an initial focus on eradicating deaths from malaria.Up to 500 million people suffer from malaria and up to one million people die unnecessarily from the disease annually. In Africa, malaria kills one child every 30 seconds. FAITHS ACT TOGETHER aims to work with partners worldwide to raise enough money to eradicate deaths from the disease. Just £5 or $10 can buy an insecticide-treated bed net. We want 2009 to be the year that people of faith become the change makers by raising the awareness and funds needed to prevent a million unnecessary deaths each year.

You can act now to help eliminate malaria by following two simple steps
STEP 1: The first is to use our short film The Story of a Bed Net to raise awareness and funds to combat malaria. One £5 or $10 bed net can protect an entire household from malaria. You can do this with your friends, on your campus or in your local area.
STEP 2: Tell us about it by posting your stories and photographs on our page or emailing them to us at faithsact@tonyblairfaithfoundation.org . We will then post them on the interactive map on our website to inspire others.
