The Oaktree Foundation is an entirely youth run aid and development organisation. We are driven by young people under the age of 26. We believe that education is the key to making lasting change.

As an entirely youth run aid and development organisation, Oaktree volunteers have the opportunity to lead and be involved in every aspect of Oaktree’s work.

This is something that makes us unique and gives young people the chance to actually do the work of making lasting change.

There are a number of key ways that Oaktree engages. At the core of our work are our projects in developing communities. Oaktree’s development projects reflect our belief that education leads to empowerment and mobilisation.

There are three key ways that we realise our work in developing communities:
Volunteer Mobilisation – engaging young people through action
Advocacy – speaking out to create change
Fundraising – partnering through financial commitment.
Whether it is liaising with our partners to manage development projects, running a national advocacy campaign, developing our strategic approach to fundraising or building the Oaktree volunteer base on the international stage young volunteers are doing it all.

One day is The Oaktree Foundation’s major annual fundraising campaign, which encourages people around the world to use their individual skills and passions to run a fundraising event in support of Oaktree’s projects in the developing world.

An event can be anything at all: a formal dinner, a fun run, an office breakfast, a movie marathon, a concert or a school focus-day. There are endless ways for you impact lives globally and locally.

While one day is a youth inspired campaign, absolutely anyone can run an event – it invites all people of all ages to work towards the goal that one day we will live in a world without poverty and injustice. One day encourages youth and community empowerment and asks you not to wait to make a difference - the time is now!

One day is the chance for you to initiate positive change in the world - to empower young people in the developing world and to bring understanding to those in your own local community.
