Climate Change is a fantastic opportunity to see if we, as a global society, can reinvent ourselves.

Redesign: YC3 is about big picture solutions. Youth are the drivers of positive systemic change through our careers and actions. Systemic change moves beyond individual small scale action to larger societal solutions that focus on the root causes of climate change and seek to re-design society.

As youth, we have the power to move systemic change through the development of our careers, and the implementation of our actions.

Collaborate: YC3 is about collaboration – we need everyone’s help and energy! We use climate change as a vehicle to collaborate across generations, sectors of society, borders, and cultures.

Re-envision: YC3 is about defining a new vision of our future. We take action in a holistic way, by using climate change as a lens through which to address its root causes in every area of society – politics, economics, social justice, education, science, technology, business, and health.

Inspire: YC3 seeks to give cause for hope by inspiring and building new models. Our positive and passionate youth voice is a dynamic force to inspire change.

YC3 is a youth-led initiative, focused on action, alternatives, and solutions for a changing world.
In July 2005 we organised the Canadian Youth Climate Change Conference in Victoria, BC.

This brought together pioneering leaders in climate change and sustainability with youth from across Canada and the world, for a call to action to create long lasting positive change.

Following on from the incredible energy created at the Conference, YC3 aims to give youth the skills, support structure, and empowerment to lead the challenge of climate change.

YC3 stands for the Youth Climate Change Conference, a project that Changing Climates implemented in July 2005. Through the process of organizing this conference, the name YC3 became recognized across Canada, and we have decided to keep it as our unofficial, but catchy title.
