To create a safer and healthy environment through a youth-led movement conducive for learning and living.
Team Environmental Network is a sub-organization of a youth-led movement called, Youth Crime Watch of Nigeria (Oyo State Chapter) whose mission is to eradiate crime, violence, drug abuse, human trafficking and promoting a safer and healthy society conducive for learning and living.
This sub-organization was set up based on one of our components ACTION PROJECTS. It focused on giving back to our communities, by providing educational, awareness and assistance to make our schools and communities neatest and safest environment from crime, violence, drug use and trash. It does encourage self-esteem and build self-confidence in our young people.
It is a TEN-man project that involves teens, youths and adults. It requires much labour and commitment thus the team going around even to our villages to provide information and guides on safer and healthy environment. It involves in the State environmental sanitation and work with the health professionals and officers and allow young people to work and live a safer and healthy lives.
“ Action Projects serves us an anchor leg to the projects previously executed because it takes us a step further from counseling to practically, resettling, partaking in the phycological, physical, and mental disability.

PROJECT TITLE: Our project is to be titled “LIVING HEALTH”
The project title was selected based on the immediate needs of the communities (i.e. different schools) after a sampling survey in the opinions of parents, students and with the alarming rate of disease recorded daily.
OBJECTIVES:
To promote safer and healthy environments through a youth-led movement in our schools and communities conducive for learning and living.
To educate the general public on environmental sanitation.
To contribute to safety and health of our young people.
To increase respect for rules and policies of environmental health.
To promote positive behaviour and to give youth in different communities a sense of belonging.
To enable children and youths to become resources for safer and healthy environments.
FOCUS:
Class, Block, School, Laboratory, Social, and Physical environment.
ACTIVITIES
Class Level
- Beautification of the class.
- Pasting of educational charts on class-walls.
- Beautification of the surrounding of the classroom.
Block Levels
- Creating flower bed around school blocks.
- Planting of flowers.
- Placement of waster bin at strategic areas round the blocks.
- Planting of trees.
- Drawing of maps and other educational slogans on vacant block walls.
- Creation of gardens in front of blocks.
- Sculptural work from local materials and waste.
Path and School Drive ways
- Marking of paths with stones painted white.
- Planting of flowers and trees to beautify the compound.
- Beautification of existing trees by trimming and removing all debris around them.
- Creation of parks, under trees with shades.
- Planting of grasses to control weeds and erosion.
The School Gate area
- Removal of bills pasted on the school’s wall.
- Painting of educational materials outside the school’s wall.
- Planting of flowers to beautify the surrounding of the gate.
- Planting of grasses if necessary.
e. -Waste disposal
- Construction and distribution of mini waste baskets at strategic areas in the school and community.
- Monitoring of students to ensure that they did not drop waste anywhere except in the waste basket.
- Construction of incinerators to disperse solid waste
f. -Museum/Exhibition
- Setting up of exhibition centre within the school compound.
- demonstration of experiments e'g seed germination, waste seperation and recycling.
- Presentation of projects on different environment isues by students e.g. solar energy, ozone layer, green house effect, desertification, etc.
g.- Socio- Academic activities
- Competition on indoor games like scrabble class, debating, science experiments as part of environment week.
- Marking of Earth day every April and World Environmental day every June 5.
