Capacity Building
In order to equip young activists of both SYCB members and non-members from Burma with knowledge and skills, we organize training, workshops and seminars.
Seminars, Meetings and Conferences
In order to create a common vision for the future of Burma and to exchange ideas and experiences among young activists, we organize seminars, meetings and conferences. Furthermore, we organize meetings with senior leaders and leading political forces to lobby for youth concerns and to enable youth participation in the policy-making process within the movement.
Grassroots Campaigns
In order to achieve a smooth and sound process of national reconciliation, we believe the emergence of a tripartite dialogue is of central importance. This dialogue must include all parties involved in existing conflicts and it must insure that all strata of Burmese society fully participate in the process. Therefore, we organize and/or join with others in campaign activities such as "Pressure for Tripartite Dialogue" and "Release All Political Prisoners".
Youth Exchange
In order to create a space where young people with different ethnic, religious and ideological backgrounds can meet and share their opinions on various issues, we support and encourage local youth activists to organize a monthly youth exchange program. The most importance of our youth exchanges are youth concerns and discussion that promotes mutual understanding and friendship.
Exposure Trips
We organize trips, comprised of youth delegates from SYCB member organizations, to different ethnic nationalities’ areas and refugee camps along the Burma-Thailand border in order to learn about the lives of ethnic people and their respective culture and tradition. We also meet with local youth communities and organizations during our trips.
Information and Public Relations
In order to raise awareness among the international community about the situation of Burma and the suffering of the people of Burma under the brutal military regime, and to support the campaigns with materials, we produce releases, pamphlets and posters. We also publish a bi-yearly magazine.
International Solidarity
We frequently participate in workshops, seminars and conferences put on by various international students and youth networks and organizations. We also organize campaign tours and/or study trips to other countries.
