Since 1993, SAVAC (South Asian Visual Arts Centre) has been dedicated to the presentation and promotion of contemporary visual art by South Asian artists. SAVAC presents innovative programming, which critically explores issues and ideas shaping South Asian identities and experiences. SAVAC operates without a gallery space, but collaborates with various organizations locally, nationally and internationally, to produce exhibitions, screenings, online projects and artistic interventions.

The organization works to produce various art exhibitions from South Asian Toronto based communities. They accept artwork from local individuals, youth, individual submissions both that explore themes of the South Asian diaspora and those that are about other creative themes. SAVAC also has an influential education and outreach program, through which they organize workshops and discussion panels on contemporary topics affecting and of interest to local artists and South Asians.

Participate in SAVAC's Affordable Art Sale at Mosaic (Mississauga’s South Asian Heritage Festival). Mosaic attracts thousands of visitors over a summer weekend, and is the perfect time for showcasing your work, networking with other artists and getting involved with the South Asian community. SAVAC will be present on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st June 2009. Members can submit 2–5 artworks and receive all proceeds from the sale of their work!
