Goals for strategic areas:
1. Capacity Building
Goals:
To enhance the service delivery capacity through needs driven interventions of member organizations, training of NEC and secretariat.
Specific Objectives:
1. To facilitate HIV/AIDS knowledge, strengthening of NEC and members through exposure visits
2. To strengthen NEC and secretariat functioning through leadership training
3. To develop needs driven interventions of member organizations through organizational assessment.
4. To improve secretariat competence through development training.
5. To build resource base through establishment TOT pool trainers
2. Advocacy and lobbying
Goals:
To strengthen advocacy and lobbying for user friendly policies and legislation and a conducive environment for people suffering from HIV/AIDS Specific
Objectives:
1. To increase HIV/AIDS awareness raising through skills development of the members
2. To Lobby for a user friendly national policy on HIV/AIDS and other supporting legislations
3. To promulgate SAHAN to the donors, stakeholders and general public
4. To strengthen the advocacy skills for member organizations
3. Resource mobilization
Goals:
To increase by 75% the organization's resources for sustainable programming and members support through galvanizing members support and increasing the donor resource base by the end of June 2008.
Specific Objectives:
1. To develop a resource mobilization and management strategy
2. To establish a resource centre at SAHAN secretariat
3. To ensure the organizational has adequate and competent human resources
4. Networking and co-ordination
Goals:
To enhance networking and coordination of SAHAN member organizations and build coalitions with stakeholders and linkages with both local and international HIV/AIDS bodies through an established information system.
Specific Objectives:
1. Improve coordination of activities and information sharing amongst member organizations and stakeholders through establishment of regional bodies/forums
2. To build coalition with stake holders, International NGOs and donors
3. To develop/build international links with other net works in Africa and beyond
4. To develop and implement effective information sharing strategies
5. Monitoring and evaluation
Goals:
By the end of June 2008, SAHAN and its members will have improved knowledge based response and management and evaluation of HIV/AIDS programes through enhanced monitoring and evaluation capacities.
Specific Objectives:
1. To improve/develop organization effectiveness and efficiency through formulation and implementation of sound systems
2. To develop a participatory monitoring plan for the network
3. To enhance members M&E capacity through trainings
