SEDA PAKISTAN EDUCATION PROGRAM:
Recognizing the importance of education in the modern era as per United Nations Millennium development Goal # 2, to Achieve Universal Primary Education SEDA has active force in facilitating and providing basic education in the rural area of NWFP over past 3 years. There has been significant improvement in areas such Mardan due to the human resource and other expertise of SEDA in the subject, because the main aim of SEDA is to provide quality education to the poor segment of the society. SEDA Pakistan has also expanded its operations in the war affected areas of SWAT & Dir and has been a motivational force in reshaping educational infrastructure with the help of its partners.

Non Formal Education
Non-formal education have played vital role in educating those who have been ignored in Pakistan particularly in poor rural areas of the country. Since 2009 SEDA NFE program also focusing on far furlong areas of SWAT & Dir district of NWFP.
SEDA PAKISTAN Education Program Achievements:
· Establishment of 1 Primary & 2 Community Based Schools.
· Enrolment of 500 children age 5-14 (60 % girls).
· 90% of children completed full year study in these schools.
· Employment opportunity for 20 local community members particularly 70% are female staff.
· Capacity Building of 50 local teachers.
· Capacity Building of 30 Government teachers.
· Formation of Parent Teachers Association (PTA) and Female Education Support Groups (FESG) at district level.
SEDA PAKISTAN WOMEN DEVELOPMENT APPROACH:
AIMS AND OBJECTVES: Women from more than half of the population of our country which has not been provided equitable share in the process of the economic development. Lack of knowledge, skills and economic independence has result many problems in our society. Observing this disadvantaged status of Pakistani women, SEDA PAKISTAN has been setup as a Non-Political Welfare Organization to give support women in educational, human rights, skills development, social and economic division at grass roots level.
SEDA PAKISTAN aims at the development and welfare of women, which has been formed with the following aims and objectives.
· To provide legal aid to women, through legal awareness, human rights education, counseling and providing legal assistance and advice to women involved in family disputes, women in prisons, children in prisons, bounded labor and victims of human rights violation and denial.
· To work for the elimination of physical, sexual and psychological violence against women and its causes and to remedy its consequences.
· To improve the living conditions of the women, through promoting income generation activities and projects including vocational trainings, increasing the general awareness, jobs creations etc especially for destitute, indigent widows and orphans, so that such women may view themselves as equal part in the society.

· To improve the health status of women through sustainable health care facilities and better health, sanitation and environment programs through self help community actions and involvement of women in the local civic system.
· To uplift the Socio-Economic conditions of low income families through establishment of permanent Centers for trainings, assisting women and girls in income generating activities through vocational skills and Micro credit programs for women.
· To improve educational status and increase education among young girls so that the women may be viewed as excelling part of the society.
· To help mothers for rearing of Mentally Retarded Children and to improve health status of women through improving their own health behavior and trainings for better health care system for new born children, to reduce child mortality and improve maternal health of the poor segment of the society.
Major Achievements:
· 400 Community Members were sensitized on importance of women rights & their role effective role in the economic development of the country.
· Establish 2 Vocational Training Centers in the Two Partner villages with the help of local CCB’s in Takht-Bhai Mardan.
· Vocational trainings for 20 women as Master Trainers and awarded Certificates.
· 40 Community women completed vocational and skill base trainings and started their own business with financial support from SEDA Microfinance program.
· 100 farmers (women & men) were trained in efficient use of agriculture inputs.
· Fertilizers and seeds were distributed in 5 villages among 250 farmers to increase agriculture production.
· 10 Male and 6 female Livelihood committees have been formed.
