SJ Vietnam is an international youth NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) to promote peace , solidarity and active citizenship trought the international voluntary service. It was started in 2004 by volunteers in Vietnam and it operates through a network of national non-profit organizations and partner organizations in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and America.

During all the year, SJ Vietnam organizes local activities open to everybody: visit museums with poor children, lessons for street children, environmental activities, autumn festival for children victim of the Orange Agent, etc

A. Local activities and self management:
During all the year, SJ Vietnam organizes local activities open to everybody: visit museums with poor children, lessons for street children, environmental activities, autumn festival for children victim of the Orange Agent, etc
B.Organizing and promoting Workcamps:
SJ Vietnam organizes and promote international workcamps through out the year; trains workcamp leaders.
It aims to promote:
1. Voluntarism, friendship and solidarity among young people.
2. Awareness of local, national and international issues.
3. Improvement on quality of life. (Water filters for people living on Red river, free medicine for victims of tuberculosis, information about HIV and sexual health, leisure and cultural activities, environmental projects, etc…)
4. Cultural exchange by living together.
C. Sending Volunteers on Workcamps abroad
4 Countries have already received our volunteers on their national workcamps Thailand (July and Aug.05), Belgium (Sep. 05), France (Sept .05), Korea (Feb. 06), France (sept.06).
At this time around 30 countries are accessible to Vietnamese Volunteers. And each year more that one thousand projects are available…

D. Long Term Voluntarism:
A long term project is a little bit like a workcamp but longer (between 1 and 6 month). A high motivation is required from the volunteer. SJ Vietnam gives opportunity to foreign volunteers to join our long term project in Vietnam. SJ Vietnam also trough his network, also offers long term opportunities to Vietnamese volunteer to volunteer abroad for a low cost as possible: if possible we try to find a grant to pay a part of the travel cost…

SJ Vietnam is proudly a non-professional youth organization: the organization is completely managed by the young themselves with … professionalism. All the local and international activities are imagined and realized by the members together during their free times. SJ Vietnam is a youth organization for the Youth people BY the youth people.
All the SJ volunteers are non-paid, we work during on our free times for free because we believe in the goals of our projects and that’s the most import for us.
