The Sierra Student Coalition is a broad network of high school and college students from around the country working to protect the environment on the local, regional, national and international level. We have over 250 affiliated groups. The SSC is the student arm of the Sierra Club, the largest and oldest grassroots environmental organization in the country (founded in 1892!). Like the Club, the SSC is run by volunteers, in our case high school and college students. We have a small staff in our World Headquarter in Washington, DC (they used to be students). The SSC is the largest student led environmental group in the country.
