What does the organization do?
To fulfill the SMYAL mission, we focus our commitment and energy on five focus areas for youth: (1) Life Skills and Leadership Development, (2) Counseling and Support, (3) Health and Wellness Education, (4) Safe and Positive Image Social Activities, and (5) Community Outreach and Education.

SMYAL provides an after-school community center; HIV/STD prevention, education, advocacy, testing, and referral services; sexual health advocacy; substance abuse education; conflict resolution; clinical counseling services; youth networking; career/resume workshops; retreats. Collectively, we provide a safe-space for youth who are disadvantaged, displaces, or who simply want to network with other LGBTIQ youth in a positive-image environment.
