Seoul Youth Center for Cultural Exchange 'MIZY' was founded in May 2000 to promote cultural exchanges and dialogue among youth and to be a place where youths from Seoul and foreign countries get together.

Since its foundation, MIZY Center is operated by the Korean National Commission for UNESCO under the auspices of the Seoul Metropolitan Government. Currently, the Center is actively working with international and regional organizations to encourage our youth to better understand each other and their cultures. Respect for cultural diversity is the cornerstone of the Center.

The participation of youth is at the core of MIZY Center's philosophy. In the process of preparation and implementation of all projects, creativity and participation of the youth has been fully recognized to promote their interests in other cultures as well as global issues in the world. Exploring world civilizations, creating art works with foreign artists, holding video conferences - all of the MIZY activities are planned and conducted by the youth themselves.

Furthermore, it is our fundamental goal to support our youth to be global leaders in the era of globalization. MIZY Center aims at providing youth workers with further training and education to increase their practical knowledge on inter-cultural communication skills.

MIZY Center will be with all youths from the world and Seoul, helping them to stretch out to the world, to experience unique cultures, and to be the world's friends and partners. Hopefully, we will achieve our common goals through cooperation and partnership with you.

The place where our youth progress to the future, not staying in the present, where cultural diversity is respected, and where the youth from Seoul and abroad make a step toward their goals having fun together: this is MIZY Center!

MIZY Center is the place where the youth aged from 9 to 24 can enjoy freely and comfortably by and for themselves.

MIZY Center helps the youth to cultivate themselves as global citizens through various cultural exchange programs.


MIZY Center provides a lot of information on cultural exchange and is the place where the youth can share it.

MIZY Center operates many cultural experience programs for the youth to meet various cultures with open minds. There is also a program for national and foreign youth to gather and introduce their cultures.

(Modern Arts Workshop; Project Standing by OOO, Let's Be Friends(cultural heritage), World Civilization Tour, MIZY Arirang Festival. )



MIZY Center provides direct and creative cultural exchange programs to the youth who are going to play an important role in the age of globalization. Especially, through various approaches such as a video conference and topic research, we pursue the cultural exchange led by the youth.

(Asian Youth Camp, Bro-Sis Seoul Youth Camp, International video conference, youth exchanges in foreign countries.)



MIZY Center holds various inter-cultural exchange training workshops to cultivate youth workers and leaders. In addition, monthly lecture series has been ongoing to introduce international work to the youth.

(Training workshops (intercultural awareness, planning and evaluation, networking, creativity, etc.), MIZY Cultural Diversity Academy, Monthly lecture on international work, Out-reaching community education.)



MIZY Center provides information on domestic and foreign youth cultural exchanges through the homepage and publications as well. Also, we build up networks with foreign organizations for various cultural exchange programs. A lot of internships, board memberships, and volunteer opportunities are open to the youth in pursuit of cultural exchanges.
