Training in ICT, Automotive Mechanics, Various Agricultural Activities, Pottery/Ceramics
RCS trains youths in the basic ICT courses and brings to their knowledge (ICTs) services. These are mainly computer short courses such as internet basics, Microsoft word, publisher, excel, access, etc. We also train them in automotive mechanics, agricultural activities and pottery/ceramics. The training in agricultural activities is spearheaded by some of our members who are currently pursuing degree courses at The University of Zambia in the school of Agricultural Sciences
HIV/AIDS Programs
Information and Communication Technologies have a very important role to play in effectively disseminating information. With respect to HIV and AIDS, the use of ICTs means increased dissemination of information and sharing of experiences among partner organizations that may help mitigate the epidemic. RCS runs programs through the use of ICTs generally, that effective try to sensitize the youths on the deadly disease of HIV/AIDS.
Distribution of Subsidised Farm Inputs
RCS is affiliated to the Ministry of Agriculture and Co-operatives. We obtain subsidized farm inputs on behalf of our members from the Ministry. It must be noted here that only those that have undergone our training and are also registered and are fully paid up members for a particular year are eligible for this service.
Easy Access of Relevant Information
Most agriculturally and youth/women focused projects have developed online portals for farmers and youths/women respectively including those interested in the practice. These portals provide our members with a variety of information.
With the availability of funds and resources, RCS hopes to have its own website that would improve its service delivery to its members and the general public.
Marketing of Goods on behalf of Its Members
Based on a variety of information obtained on online portals and other sources, we as RCS organize market on behalf of our members. We also avail ICT equipment to our members to contact potential customers of their choice as well as suppliers. Our members also make leaflets, brochures etc. using ICTs (using digital cameras and wired computer) which they use for their market purposes.
Periodic Follow Ups on Members Performance
We usually undertake periodic follow ups to ensure that our members continue adhering to the methods and standards of farming that are taught to them by us. We also take advantage of such follow ups in taking samples of soil from their farms for testing in order to ensure that the soil has the right pH and other soil constituents..
Workshops
We usually conduct workshops for our members with our partners where we discuss various issues arising and also share knowledge.
Internet and Secretarial Services to the General Public
