Plumeria International is a Non-Governmental and independent organization, non-denominational volunteer organization. That was founded and registered under the ministry of social services and culture department to address development matters,in East-Africa. It was formed as a result of experience and exposure gained from volunteering in other communities and working with volunteer organizations. Through resource and social mapping, we discovered that the main reasons for poverty in East-Africa are...

•Lack of exposure and incentives towards development oriented project and entrepreneurial practice.
• Lack of information on development matters.
•Lack of leadership skills and limited resources.
As an organization working with the community our main concerns are;-

•Health and sanitation.
•Education.
•Environmental awareness.
•Poverty eradication
We have developed different programmes for volunteer who can come in and join us, as interns, back packers, professionals in their areas of study, educational tourist for institutions, project developers, health or medical camps geared towards improving on provision of essential services offered by the government in the health sector.

We also offer alternatives to development thus breaking the gap and time
line used in provision of essential services. Plumeria International offers cultural exposure to its participants who come to Tanzania and we educate them on the same through placement of volunteers in host families who are trained and have knowledge and respect of other people’s culture. As an organization working with the community, our primary aim and concern is safety, healthy and assurance to our volunteers so that we can accommodate all.
