The overall objective of the Foundation is to fund and facilitate the development of Transfrontier Conservation Areas, placing particular emphasis on the promotion of regional peace and stability, the creation of new jobs associated with the anticipated growth of tourism in Southern Africa, and the conservation of biological diversity. The countries involved in the initial phase of the Foundation's program are Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
