The Pan-African Youth Dialogue is guided by the broader vision, mission, principles, values and objectives as outlined in the Constitutive Act of the AU, the African Youth Charter, the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights, NEPAD, UN Charter, Universal Declaration of Human Rights and all UA Charters and Protocols on Women, Children, Democracy, Elections and Governance and Cultural Renaissance.
This broader vision, mission, principles, values and objectives which PAYD subscribes to are to promote “…unity, solidarity, cohesion and cooperation among the peoples of Africa [and the African Diaspora]... in order to promote the socio-economic development of Africa and to face more effectively the challenges posed by globalization…and…to promote and protect human and peoples' rights, consolidate democratic institutions and culture, and to ensure good governance and the rule of law.” While guided by “…our common vision of a united and strong Africa and by the need to build a partnership between governments and all segments of civil society, in particular women, youth and the private sector, in order to strengthen solidarity and cohesion among our peoples”, as envisioned by the Constitutive act of the African Union. It also seeks to contribute to the revival and strengthening of an engaged African youth that is able to take leadership, holds its government accountable and share in the obligations of the community and society.

What does the organization do?
The Pan African Youth Dialogue has four key programmes:
1. A Biennial Pan African Youth Dialogue Conference on every held in every odd year,i.e. 2011, 2013 etc
2. The Young Women's Dialogue hosted every year with partner organisations for women under the age of 20

The Pan African Youth Dialogue has four key programmes:
1. A Biennial Pan African Youth Dialogue Conference on every held in every odd year,i.e. 2011, 2013 etc
2. The Young Women's Dialogue hosted every year with partner organisations for women under the age of 20
3. A think-piece series culminating in published works for university students on current topics
4. Adopt-A-School programme and promote leadership, sporting, cultural and academic excellence in those few selected secondary schools.

Opportunities for Youth
Young Africans have the opportunity to participate in the conference which will rotate between Member States of the Africa Union starting with South Africa in 2011. Expenses to the conference will as far as possible be paid by the Pan African Youth Dialogue or heavily subsidised so as to draw as...

Young Africans have the opportunity to participate in the conference which will rotate between Member States of the Africa Union starting with South Africa in 2011. Expenses to the conference will as far as possible be paid by the Pan African Youth Dialogue or heavily subsidised so as to draw as wide an audience as possible.
We welcome volunteers from all over the Continent and will assist with boarding.
