The Omprakash Foundation is a registered 501c3 organization offering a new model of global education that empowers people everywhere to become conscious participants in processes of social transformation. Our website contains an ever-expanding database of grassroots educational projects with which we have established personal relationships. In the democratic, all-empowering spirit of YouTube and Wikipedia, the content of this website is user-generated: as people young and old travel the world to volunteer and build relationships with scattered schools and libraries, we invite them to bring these educational projects into the Omprakash network.

The Omprakash Foundation provides a free database through our website for people to exchange ideas and form relationships with volunteers, donors, advocates, and needy projects abroad. We offer volunteer grants to people who would like to volunteer abroad and form a relationship with a community that will continue after the volunteer returns home. We offer grants for classrooms to partner with Omprakash organizations in meaningful, interactive service learning projects.

Americans young and old are disempowered and are denied the opportunity to participate in processes of global change. Many youth lack the informational and/or financial resources to travel and volunteer abroad, and thus possess only a limited understanding of the world beyond their own homes. Moreover, those youth who do manage to build relationships with foreign communities often return home without knowing how to continue supporting these communities. Whether they are hoping to volunteer abroad, fundraise domestically, or simply donate funds that they already possess, many Americans and youth lack the infrastructural resources that would enable them to actively create change at the grassroots level.
Through the Omprakash Foundation, we have responded to these issues by using an innovative model of global transformation through empowering education. Omprakash supports a global educational community through which needy schools and libraries around the world including in America are linked with donors and volunteers who can help meet their needs. This network educates and empowers everyone involved: needy organizations receive the resources that allow them to carry out their educational missions more effectively, and the people who support these organizations are able to learn more about the world and their own capacity to change it.
