We see youth playing a key role in the present and future stewardship of Newfoundland and Labrador's land, costal, and marine environment, while encouaging additudinal and lifestyle changes.

Ocean Net, established and incorporated in Newfoundland and Labrador in 1997, is an action-oriented, non-government, volunteer organization. The focus of the organization is ocean conservation; our mandate is "To Instill an Ocean Conservation Ethic".

Ocean Net, established and incorporated in Newfoundland and Labrador in 1997, is an action-oriented, non-government, volunteer organization. The focus of the organization is ocean conservation; our mandate is "To Instill an Ocean Conservation Ethic".
Our main program is a beach, shoreline, and underwater clean up. So far, we have completed over 1000 cleanups (1997-2006). It has been supported by approximately 12,000 volunteers
We've developed a number of succesful programs, which are implemented through its network of chapters and volunteers. These programs create aware by action.
Our Senior Directorship Program welcomes adult volunteers who lead environmental activity in the chapter area.
Community Environmental Stewartship Award: Recognizes participation in beach, shore, and harbour-side cleanups.
Our 10-point life style challage promotes consumer saving and a reduction in Green House Gas emissions.
We participate in the "Clean up the World", an initiative of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), where by we join with 40 million volunteers in 130 countries worldwide in cleaning up the environment.

- Our Junior Directorship Program, encourages young people to become involved in environmental programs.
- Our Annual "Youth and the Oceans Conference", which is held on the second friday of October, in -St. John's, for junior high and highschool students of Newfoundland and Labrador.
- At the conference, the "Youth Environmental Stewardship Award", recognizes outstanding stewardship by a student or student group.
- Our Camp Starfish is an environmental daycamp, is a fun learning experence. In communities throughout the province.
- Our Eco-Champ Program encourages schools to cleanup beaches in their home community. Schools are rewarded with cash awards.
